SMART CITY AS MY DREAM CITY
Recently, our Hon. PM shri Modiji has launched a '' 100 smart city'' project in which the work of 20 cities has already started. But while the nation is on the development track, it should be utmostely cared that the ecosystem balance should not be disturbed. So, in my opinion, 'smart city' should be purely ''ECOFRIENDLY'' ".
Here's idea of a "SMART CITY AS MY DREAM CITY':-
First of all, let us see the basic roadmap for a "smart city". Following are the very basic points to be considered:-
1) All roads should meet at right angles anywhere, at every nook & corner of the city. This is the first indication of "smartness'' of a city. The ancient cities of Harappa, Mohenjodaro, Ayodhya, etc. had this pattern.
2) there should be either overhead bridges or underground subways at every 500 km range for crossing. This is to avoid accidents while crossing & also to avoid Rush and Mess!
3) All the water supply, sewage lines, electricity connections, gas connections, LAN cables should be underground. Today, in almost every big metro cities in the world, you will find this pattern!
4) The basic facilities like libraries, theatres, schools, colleges, banks, etc. should be provided in every 1 sq.km range (each at least one).
5) all government offices, municipal corporation, & important govt. service centers should be situated in the center of the city, ie, ''Heart of the City''.
6) There should be an Underground Metro line, so that it saves a lot of place, and which is easy way of transport. In many cities like Tokyo, London, etc there are underground metrolines.
7) Use of public transport is COMPULSORY! Unless otherwise, while going outside city, only then the private vehicles are allowed. Many countries like Norway, Sweden,Netherland, etc has successfulled this new IDEA.
8) for beautification of the city, flowering plants should be grown in the dividers of each road & big trees should be planted on the footpath. In cities like Mumbai, Newyork, etc we usually find such beautification.
Now, lets talk about making the city to cross one more step towards 'smartness":-
1) First of all, there should be special land acquired for water purification & sewage treatment plants. Its very necessary to recycle the water which is todays most valuable resource....(REMEMBER 3RD WORLD WAR WILL BE ON WATER!)
2) As most of the cities in India face the problem of water in summer......thats bcoz of poor water management & wasttage of water. So next step will be that in Every layout plan of building (may it be residential, public, educational, or any other category), there should be a provision of ''rainwater harvesting system'' as well as ''water recharge'' .
3) Every building should have solar panels installed, which will generate elecricity ; so that the load on electricity supply will be reduced.
4) Now the most important part is ''waste management''! Yeah, is very important that the waste/garbage collected shouldn't be BURNED OUT!( as this pattern is carried out in almost every city of India)...........So basically, there should be 2 different waste carrying vehicles(Dumpers) : one to collect Organic waste & other to carry plastic waste.
5) At the same time, it is also necessary to RECYCLE the plastic waste. Special factories should be setup for recycling this waste.............and of course, this should be outside the city!
6) On the other hand, organic fertilizer/manure should be made from the organic/kitchen waste collected from the household........It will earn a good price & will be an income for the municipalty. Recently in last 7-8 years, many muncipalties in India has started this project.
7) Its also necessary to construct all the infrastructure from eco-friendly materials.
8)And last but not the least, there should be utmost PUBLIC DISCIPLINE to maintain! Its our responsibility to keep clean our surroundings in which we live.
